The Hunger Games Opening Weekend Cupcakes
Now that St. Patrick's Day has passed we have something new to celebrate...the opening weekend of The Hunger Games! We've seen quite a few gorgeous Hunger Games themed cupcakes but these have definitely got to be the easiest to recreate! Celebrating District 12, Erica's Sweet Tooth created these fierce looking cupcakes!
The recipe calls for your favorite box mix, oreos, and a simple frosting recipe although to make it even easier I'm sure you can use some canned frosting. Based on bold look for the flames atop the cupcakes there is a little dye job involved as well. Check out her step by step guide here!

Cupcakes or Cookies?
Do these cupcakes have you doing a double take? Well they should since they're not cupcakes at all! They're cookies! Sweet Sugar Belle tweaked and perfected this little experiment to create these amazing looking cupcakes! Most cookies shaped like cupcakes are the flat cookie cutter kind decorated to look like our favorite sweet treat but as you can see, Sweet Sugar Belle took to a new level...literally to create these 3D creations! She mentioned that she developed a tutorial for readers to recreate these themselves but check out her blog for more information!

Flaming Baked Alaska Cupcakes with Recipe Link
I know what you're thinking. BLASPHEMY! That cupcake is on fire! But wait! I swear it's part of the recipe! Sprinkle Bakes has developed these gorgeous Flaming Baked Alaska cupcakes! If you're unfamiliar with Baked Alaska it is a dessert composed up of ice cream layered with sponge cake topped with a meringue that's then placed in a super hot oven to set the meringue and brown the top. Because of all this meringue and short trip in a high heat oven the ice cream is actually protected from melting!
The process to recreate this cupcake is a little more involved that your standard everyday cupcake recipe but as you can tell from the picture, the extra time spent is well worth it! Check out the recipe and step by step guide here!

The Help: Caramel Cake
Do you ever read a book or watch a movie that has some sort of delicious looking dessert and just imagine how it would taste if it was real? Well the blog Domestic Fits created a cupcake version of Minny's famous Caramel Cake as raved about in this year's IT Book, The Help.
Originally she crafted a full size Caramel Cake but for the cupcake version she had to tweak the recipe a bit. In looking over the recipe I found it very simple to follow and will definitely have to try it out. Check out the recipe for yourself here!
