Cherry blossom and spring flower cupcake prettiness

More cherry blossom cupcakes are coming soon! These are by Le Dolci Cupcakes and Cakes in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, via @LeDolci on Twitter, from a custom order. Visit their Facebook page or ledolci.com for more information.

They also teach cupcake classes; on March 25th will be introduction to cupcake decorating, and March 31st is introduction to spring cupcakes. I also like the sound of this class: Gucci, Chanel, LV, Tiffany & you – Designer Cupcake Class!

Here's the description of the cupcake decorating class:
At this absolute beginners class, suitable for anyone at any age(!), you will work with tools that professional cake makers use to create your own cupcake works of art. You will work with fondant and professional food colouring to make simple shapes and decorations for your little bundles of goodness. After working with fondant, you will then experiment with our mouth watering buttercream icing. Using the deliciously smooth buttercream icing you will test out different nozzles and colors to make wonderful swirls, seashells, grass and more! Class time -2 hours.

You will have a fun time in a relaxing atmosphere, have gained confidence in working with fondant, food colouring, cutters and piping bags and be leaving with a set of 12 fabulously decorated cupcakes that your friends and family will be suitably impressed by!

Ruffles, roses and hearts on springtime wedding cupcakes

Pretty flower cupcakes by Starbird Bakeshouse in Nelson, British Columbia, Canada, who can be reached at starbirdbakehouse at yahoo.com or 250-551-4681. Via Flickr. Beautiful! The purple ones are my favorites, not just because purple is my favorite color, but because there's so much going on, but it's subtle, and each cupcake is different from the other next to it. You can also keep up with them on Facebook.

Some of the most beautiful flower cupcakes I've ever seen

I feel like I should be jaded about flower cupcakes by now, after probably seeing hundreds, if not thousands of them, but I'm not, just as I'm not jaded about real flowers. This flower cupcake bouquet is stunning, with creativity and color and pop. Made by blogger I Bake Cupcakes for her mother's 60th birthday!

Orange candy clay daisies, mini yellow candy clay flowers and red gum drop roses.

Yes, Mother's Day cupcakes are already here, plus kids' cupcake decorating class in London

We haven't even gotten to St. Patrick's Day or Easter, but already cupcake bakers are touting their Mother's Day cupcakes, so for the big planners out there, here are two examples of what I'm sure will be many more Mother's Day cupcakes.

flower cupcakes by Bea's of Bloomsbury in London, via @beas_bloomsbury on Twitter. If you want to learn how to decorate your own Mother's Day cupcakes, they are holding a Mother's Day cupcake class on March 27th for kids! "Our kids cupcake class will teach your child not only how to pipe using different flavoured buttercreams but also decorate cupcakes using edible glitter, dragees and sugar flowers. The class will be held on the 17th March between 12pm-2pm by our Pastry Chef Kate Donnan. Your child will enjoy a fun and creative class and at the end take home 12 cupcakes that will make Mother's Day that extra special."

Marshmallow Flower Cupcakes

I consider myself an amateur baker because I've never had any training and I've never taken any classes. Everything I've learned about baking has come from my mom and books. Sometimes the hardest part to teach myself is decorating. What I love about these cupcakes is that they look fancy, but they're really easy to decorate. All you need are mini marshmallows, which you cut in half diagonally, and colorful sprinkles. To see the full blog post for these cupcakes, check out my blog The Collegiate Baker!

Happy National Cereal Day! Honeycomb cupcakes and sunflower Cocoa Puffs and Booberry, Frankenberry, and Count Chocula cupcakes

Happy National Cereal Day! What a great holiday. I am a big cereal fan; with milk or soy milk, I like Grape Nuts (crunchy, not mushy, but they are not great for snacking or, most likely, for cupcakes (but you never know). For eating plain, I really like all the Chex cereals, as well as Kashi Go Lean Crunch, Corn Pops, Raisin Bran, Cheerios and Honey Nut Cheerios and Shredded Wheat. Lucky Charms and Corn Pops are probably the sweetest cereals I eat. Yesterday, we gave you 5 Lucky Charms cupcakes, and in the past we've done cereal cupcake roundups. So today, to wish you a Happy Cereal Day, here's a Honeycomb cereal cupcake by blogger Ingredients of a 20something that I find particularly cute. Have you made cereal cupcakes? Let us know either by posting your photos in our Flickr cupcake photo pool, posting them on our Facebook page or emailing us with the photo or URL at cupcakestakethecake at gmail.com and we will try to post them (keep in mind that the first two options are preferred and will reach a cupcake hungry audience immediately). Happy cereal eating, on cupcakes or not!

These sunflower Cocoa Puffs (the post says "chocolatey cereal" so they may not actually be Cocoa Puffs, but they look like it) cupcakes are a repeat, but are one of my favorite cereal cupcakes ever, so I think it's justified. Find out how to make them at Skip to My Lou.

And blogger Sugar Swings! Serves Some made some monster cereal cupcakes around Halloween, using Berry, Frankenberry, and Count Chocula cereals:

Gorgeous and delicious cupcakes from Frosted in Honolulu, Hawaii

I owe you a longer post about Frosted, based in Honolulu, Hawaii, which is coming, but before I get a chance to do that I wanted to share the beautiful and delicious cupcakes I got to taste, courtesy of Frosted owner Melissa, while I was in town. They were gorgeously decorated and, without being heavy, were wonderful and rich, the kinds of cupcakes you want to finish, but don't need to finish in order to feel like you've eaten something delicious. The first three photos are by me, the rest are via Facebook, and the last photo is of custom music cupcakes, via Frosted on Facebook, by KAI-PHOTO HAWAII. Frosted does custom cupcakes and cakes and asks for several months notice for weddings. Find out more at frostedhawaii.com.
