Cool Mint Oreos and Birthday Cake Oreos inside cupcakes!

The cupcake recipe is a nice time-saver as it uses a chocolate boxed mix for the base with a few additions (still comes out super tasty!) and I paired it with my basic buttercream recipe with finely crumbed cool mint oreos and peppermint flavoring added in.

I used a funfetti cupcake mix, which made 6 cupcakes. I put one spoon of batter into the liner and placed the Oreo in and then placed another spoon of batter on top. I made half of this frosting recipe with some vanilla paste and no food coloring.

Twitter cupcakes on the first day of SXSW Interactive

These Twitter cupcakes aren't actually related to SXSW, the film, music and tech festival going on in Austin, Texas, starting today, but they are related to technology so I wanted to share them and ask you if you're doing any special SXSW cupcakes. The interesting thing about these cupcakes by London's Crumbs and Doilies is that I saw them a few weeks ago when someone posted them on Twitter, made for, as you can see, @jinen, but they've also popped up on the Crumbs and Doilies' blog. I feel like I should be jaded about flower cupcakes by now, after probably seeing hundreds, if not thousands of them, but I'm not, just as I'm not jaded about real flowers. Spicy dark chocolate ancho chili fudge cupcakes plus recipe link

One half of food bloggers The Foodie Couple made these spicy dark chocolate cupcakes with ancho chile chocolate ganache and fudge frosting for the other's birthday and writes:

The best part of the cupcake was the wonderful ganache so thick and gooey with just a hint of ancho spice. The cupcake itself was also very moist the ancho chili and cinnamon were just back notes to the dark chocolate. And the fudgy frosting...so good.
