Cupcakes as swag: The Help DVD publicists send "autographed" cupcakes to lots of UK media

Twitter is full of all sorts of UK media like Glamour UK, Empire Magazine and Stylist (to name a few), who says they're peach-flavored cupcakes, who've received The Help promotional cupcakes "autographed" by cast members. Even with a closeup view, the only one whose name I'm sure of is Viola Davis. An interesting strategy for PR that apparently works!

Twitter cupcakes on the first day of SXSW Interactive

These Twitter cupcakes aren't actually related to SXSW, the film, music and tech festival going on in Austin, Texas, starting today, but they are related to technology so I wanted to share them and ask you if you're doing any special SXSW cupcakes. I saw on Twitter that Baked by Melissa will be; I'll be in Austin from Saturday to Tuesday, and while Cupcakes Take the Cake isn't having a party this year, we'd love to keep up with the cupcake giveaways and any news. The Marines." and Marines toppers for Brian, for his sendoff as he joins the Marines. I like how beautiful and personal these are. Via their Facebook page. The Marines colors are red and gold and their motto is The Few. The Proud. The Marines. I used a gold cupcake liner, made red velvet cupcakes with cream cheese frosting and red sprinkles. I wanted to add something to them, but wasn’t really sure what to do without making them too cute. I added small American flag flags and Good Luck Brian! with the Marines logo flags. I also wrote out in white chocolate “The Few”, “The Proud.” and “The Marines”.

Cupcakery Sweet in Boston and Cambridge, Massachusetts, is sweet on Lady Gaga and celebrating her visit tomorrow to Harvard University and her Born This Way Foundation, with cupcakes! This, of course, is not the first time Lada Gaga has been immortalized in cupcake form.

In honor of Lady Gaga’s visit to Harvard University’s Graduate School of Education tomorrow to unveil her Born This Way Foundation, Sweet has created the Be Sweet cupcake with custom-made Lady Gaga and inspirational word edible fondant toppers.

100% of the proceeds of Be Sweet cupcakes sold at Sweet’s Harvard Square location tomorrow will go to the singer’s non-profit Foundation. Prices are $4.25/each, $48/dozen and $64/for 16. After tomorrow, Be Sweet cupcakes will be available by special order online (sweetcupcakes.com) until March 29, 2012.
